I have a friend who only has a few weeks left, and although he is nearing death; thankfully for his friends near and far, he is still able to use facebook. Many of his friends have been posting pictures and stories of old times which have lightened his spirits and have made him feel loved.
But there was one post by a friend that I thought was so touching and sincere, that I just have to share. It actually really choked me up, and I thought these words were just what I would want to hear in my dying days.
But words like this, for some reason are so hard for many to say, most of us find it hard to express our emotions and discuss death with someone who is dying.
"You have brought sunshine to my life and the lives of others. I am proud to call you a "friend" and "brother" and will miss you. Know that you are loved and will never be alone in the Universe"
If we could all be so brave as to express our feelings like this in a public manner before our friends pass, it would bring such satisfaction, meaning and comfort to our loved ones.
Take that brave step and speak your mind, it will help everyone deal with the inevitable loss.
